NYXPE
=====
2026-10-15

As usual, I've been splitting my time between being an administrator and CEO,
dealing with crises, and my never-ending hobby of making little things for the
web. Some might help a few people. Some might help absolutely nobody. That's
fine. I keep building this endless pile of internet junk for one reason: to
learn.

Earlier this morning, I was going through my projects. And yes, there are quite
a few. A lot are unfinished. Others were only recently completed and released.

Then, out of nowhere, I came across something I'd almost forgotten about:

I finished NyxPE in July 2026, after a few months of development and tinkering.
Inspired by projects like Sergei Strelec, it's a deliberately minimal ISO for
Windows maintenance. Just enough tools to work on a Windows installation from
the outside, carry out basic repairs, and keep things light by running entirely
from RAM.

I genuinely can't remember what software I used to customize the ISO. I was
originally going to use NTLite, but after working with it for a while, that
stopped making much sense. So I switched to something I found on GitHub. I can't
remember its name either. I'd have to check another PC I use for testing, where
it's still installed, and I'm nowhere near that machine right now. When I get
back to it, I'll add a note to this post.

Making it was fun. I also added the bare minimum of traffic tracking, mostly out
of curiosity. Looking at the analytics now, I'm surprised it got a modest amount
of attention.

Which is nice, considering I released it without expecting a single visitor.

I published it knowing there was a chance someone might sue me, hehe. But I
don't really mind. The whole point was to study, to learn, and to share
knowledge. And besides, I'm on the side of freedom.

Anyway, you're welcome to take a look at NyxPE. I don't know if I'll update it
anytime soon. A quick review tonight suggests the tools included in it are still
pretty up to date.
